Name Krynica is a quiet, beautiful retreat by the pond or stream life-giving, healthy and tasty water. Krynica called Krzenycze existed before 1547, as evidenced by the privilege of giving villages in this city for Danka from Miastko (today Tylicz). The development of the city at a later date is associated with the discovery of the seventeenth century, the medicinal properties of the mineral springs. 

The great era of development began in the spa town of Krynica 1856 activity Jozef Dietl - a professor at the Jagiellonian University - considered the father of Polish spas. Since 1858, he has become a fashionable arrival, to the waters. "During this period:Stare Łazienki Mineralne, Stare Łazienki Borowinowe, Dom Zdrojowy, Wooden Pijalnia of the promenade, guesthouses and theater larch. The resort development also contributed to the construction in 1876 of a railway line to Muszyna, extended in 1911 to Krynica-Zdroj. Krynica was fashionable and exclusive place to stay and meeting many famous people, among others. visited here J.Matejko, A.Grottger (his figure gave rise to the statue of Our Lady Queen of Krynica with spa, situated on the slope of  Parkowa Mount) H.Modrzejewska, H.Sienkiewicz, J.I.Kraszewski, which to this day is in Krynica your bench. In the interwar period in Krynica rest L.Solski, W.Reymont, J.Tuwim, K.I.Gałczyński and J. Kiepura, who had a villa there own "Patria".
